The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer Stipends program aims to stimulate new research in the humanities and its publication by supporting the work of individual scholars doing research or writing. Anyone can apply, as long as they are not a degree candidate at time of application. The award amount is $6,000, and the application deadline is September 20, 2023. You can find information on the program at https://www.neh.gov/grants/research/summer-stipends
