Office 365
Microsoft Office 365 is the cloud-based version of Office and is available to all UNCG faculty, staff, and students. Office Online is the web-based online version of the Microsoft Office suite, and can be accessed via web browsers at office365.uncg.edu. UNCG’s Office 365 subscription service also permits UNCG students, faculty and staff to download and install full Office Desktop versions of the Microsoft Office suite. Your Academic Technology Specialist (ATS) can provide basic overviews of these products. For more advanced training and for reporting issues, contact ITS.
The Office Suite includes:
Outlook: email and calendaring PowerPoint: slide presentations Teams: virtual meetings and chat Visio: flowcharts, graphs, diagrams OneDrive: cloud based storage where all of your Office files are saved Planner: project management Word: word processing OneNote: creates sharable digital notebooks Excel: spreadsheet software Sway: digital storytelling software; looks more like a website than slides Note that Office 365 is not available for emeritus, alumni, and retired faculty. Academic Technology Specialist (ATS)
Your Academic Technology Specialist (formerly ITC) Anita Warfford provides training and ongoing support on all aspects of Canvas and technology related to online learning. Contact Anita for Canvas training, basic MS365 training, and consultations on course design, Universal Design for Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and more.
Kim Allred is the College’s part-time accessibility specialist. Contact Kim for assistance with all aspects of accessibility in online courses.
Information Technology Services (ITS)
ITS provides a wide range of services to faculty and staff members. A more complete list of their services is provided here. If you notice a problem with Canvas or Microsoft 365, contact ITS support through 6-TECH. Also, if you need non-instructional assistance with a product, contact 6-TECH and their Learning Technologies group will respond. Below are some of the most commonly used links:
