NEW PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT SERVICES FOR UNCG FACULTY

UNCG’s Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is offering proposal development services to faculty members through a new partnership with Hanover Research Services. This support is available at no cost to the faculty member or department. Instructions and details can be found on the Project Request Form. Hanover consultants can assist with various steps of the proposal development process. Lead times for services vary. Available services include:

Consult Call (Lead time: 1 week)
A one-hour call with a Hanover expert to:
* Discuss your project’s alignment and competitiveness with an identified solicitation; and/or
* Discuss potential sources of funding to support your project; and/or
* Help develop talking points for upcoming outreach to a Program Officer; and/or
* Discuss the funding landscape for your project.

Proposal Review (Lead time: 2 weeks)
* Review the proposal narrative for alignment with funding opportunity announcement;
* Make specific recommendations using margin comments and/or produce a memo outlining high-level recommendations; and
* Optional conference call to debrief (scheduled upon your request).

Proposal Revision (Lead time: 3 weeks)
* Review the proposal narrative for alignment with funding opportunity announcement;
* Make specific recommendations using margin comments and/or produce a memo outlining high-level recommendations;
* Track changes to suggest revision to the proposal narrative;
* Track changes to focus on achieving clarity and effective use of language, which include addressing punctuation and grammar; and
* Optional conference call to debrief (scheduled upon your request).

Prospecting (Lead time: 4 weeks)
* Review the federal and foundation funding landscape to identify funders and mechanisms with an interest in research topics similar to yours;
* Prepare a report detailing our findings, with profiles of identified funding mechanism; analysis of previous funding; and guidance on next steps.
