It considers how colonialism, independence, changing intellectual traditions, and African scholarship have shaped the questions archaeologists ask and the histories they produce, before turning to a broader question: why does archaeology matter in contemporary Africa?

    What did it mean to be a Jewish child during the Holocaust in Nazi-occupied Ukraine? How did Nazi genocidal policies target Jewish children, leading to the deaths of 1.5 million young people? Dr. Nataliiia Ivchyk will discuss how children were not passive victims but rather individuals with unique experiences according to their age, family situation, and environment. She also will address how Jewish children of the Holocaust are remembered in Ukraine today.
