SCHEME: A Queer Feminist Leadership Convergence, hosted by UNC Greensboro’s Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program, is currently recruiting local undergraduate students and recent college graduates for their spring program.

The spring convergence will take place April 3-6, 2025, as a free, in-person experience for student activists, scholars, and creatives to co-create a political home rooted in queer, feminist, and anti-racist politics.

Attendees will draw from women of color feminist and queer liberatory traditions to build community with each other, learn about past and current advocacy work in the Triad and beyond, grow their leadership skills for engaging in political projects of their own design, and establish coalitional networks to uplift anti-oppressive and just work at their home institutions. Participants will leave the program empowered, connected, and ready to respond to the present moment with creativity and critical hope.

Who is welcome:

  • Undergraduate students and recent college graduates.
  • Those new and those experienced in feminist and Queer thought and movement work.
  • Student activists, scholars, and creatives willing and committed to dreaming, scheming, and playing together to create more just and equitable presents and futures in our shared community.
  • Individual attendees as well as small groups (2-4 students) representing an existing organization.
