Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar Public Lecture

Dr. Corey D.B. Walker (Wake Forest University): ” ‘On Earth As It Is’: On Ethics and the Environment in the Age of the Anthropocene”

The North Carolina Epsilon Chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, the nation’s oldest undergraduate honor society, is pleased to welcome Dr. Corey D.B. Walker, Dean of the Wake Forest University School of Divinity, to the UNCG campus as a Visiting Scholar, from March 20-21, 2024.

As part of his visit, Dr. Walker will be delivering a free public lecture entitled, “ ‘On Earth As It Is:’ On Ethics and the Environment in the Age of the Anthropocene,” on Thursday, March 21, 6:00 pm, SOEB 120.

Free and open to the public.

Scott Gould will join Nellie Hildebrandt (MFA ’24) and Terry L. Kennedy (Director, MFA Writing Program) in a conversation celebrating the release of Gould’s latest short story collection, Idiot Men.

This special Saturday evening event marks the 2024 kickoff for our Distinguished Visiting Writers Series, and will be followed by a book signing.
