A free lecture by Dr. Jorge Vargas of Programa Estado de la Nación, Costa Rica

Join us for this free lecture in UNC Greensboro’s 2023-24 Harriet Elliott Lecture Series, hosted by the Department of Political Science.

Dr. Jorge Vargas is the director of the State of the Nation Program in Costa Rica, which assesses Costa Rica and Central America’s development performance. He has published widely in academic journals, especially in the fields of public opinion and the quality of democracy.

In this lecture, Vargas will discuss democratic backsliding in Central America and in Latin America.
