October 1 @ 6:00 pm 8:00 pm

In honor of the one-year anniversary of the EJI/GCCRP Soil Collection, this event will feature a dramatic reading of Georgia Douglas Johnson’s powerful one-act play, A Sunday Morning in the South.

Dr. Deborah Barnes, a fellow at the International Civil Rights Center and Museum, will deliver the keynote address, providing insight into the historical context of plays that explore themes of terror and lynching.

Local educators and the UNCG community will join the ICRCM to reflect on Eugene Hairston’s legacy and the ongoing work of reconciliation in Greensboro, while strengthening ties to the Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery, AL. This event is also open for public viewing.
