Clinical Psychology Program, Recipient of the 2017 Dean’s Award

We are proud to announce that the Clinical Psychology Program has received the Dean’s Award for the Promotion of Diversity & Inclusiveness in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS).

This award is granted to individuals or academic departments/programs that exemplify a commitment to the cause of enhancing diversity in the CAS. The award highlights best practices and honors the individual(s) or department/program responsible for creating or enhancing an inclusive environment for education. It is recognized with a plaque (see right) and a $1000 cash prize.

The clinical program has made several contributions responsible for creating or enhancing an inclusive environment for education, including:

*Receipt of a Graduate Psychology Education Preparation Grant that devotes resources to the recruitment, retention, and provision of professional development opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds.

*Extensive community collaborations in Greensboro and the surrounding community  (e.g., at the Newcomers school, which serves immigrant and refugee students as they transition to mainstream public schools).

*Active promotion of diversity and inclusiveness via curricular offerings and a diversity coffee hour at admissions.
