Workshop with Jacoby Cochran and ‘In The Beat of The Night’
October 2, 2025 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
It’s one thing to tell your own story – it’s something else to create a space that helps other people tell their stories.
Following the October 1 Harriet Elliott Lecture Series Keynote Event, this workshop will give students and community members a chance to engage with our guest – Jacoby Cochran, and our community partners – In the Beat of the Night, in a more interactive conversation. We will discuss various online and community-based platforms, as well as techniques for interviewing – with the goal of showing how our combined stories create the kinds of connections that build strong communities.
Location: Elliott University Center (EUC) Kirkland Suite
Please contact David Errera at dserrera@uncg.edu or 336.334.5297 at least one week prior to the event to request disability accommodations. All requests will be reviewed by event organizers and reasonable accommodations will be made. The requester will be notified of approved accommodations.
