SUMMARY:Indian Ocean Winds Movement Workshop
DESCRIPTION:How can movement help us understand our own experiences with medicine\, as well those of people in the past?  \n\n\n\nThis accessible workshop welcomes participants into an exploration of the illness and therapeutics through our bodies\, specifically through improvised movement. Drawing on a medical text composed in the medieval Indian Ocean world\, Shireen will present a movement score for us to explore. Her facilitation style is inspired by contact improvisation\, ensemble thinking and the disability dance community. Though it is not open to the public\, this workshop is accessible to all bodyminds\, including those with no dance experience.
