The UNCG U-RISE program (previously known as the MARC program) is designed to prepare underrepresented students to pursue a PhD in the biomedical field. Faculty in relevant disciplines are asked to encourage promising students to apply. This program is supported by the NIH.
The U-RISE program accepts applications from sophomores who have at least 2 full academic years remaining at the university. The application deadline has been extended to February 17.
Faculty mentors of U-RISE Fellows receive supply funds ($2000) to support the fellow’s research in the mentor’s lab.
