SUMMARY:When Should You Unfollow?: A Philosophical Guide to Political Disagreement with Professor Daniel Muñoz
DESCRIPTION:Our speaker\, Professor Daniel Muñoz\, is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at UNC Chapel Hill\, and is a core faculty member in the Chapel Hill PPE (Philosophy\, Politics\, and Economics) Program. \n\n\n\nIn this talk\, he asks: should you\, for the sake of getting at the truth\, stop following sources that you often disagree with? \n\n\n\nIn this talk\, Professor Muñoz will explore the argument that even if someone is less reliable than your other preferred sources\, they might still be more valuable. As long as the new source is (1) better than random chance and (2) independent of your other sources\, they’re going to add more for you than just following another person who just agrees with your familiar sources. \n\n\n\nLocation: MHRA Room 1214 \n\n\n\nHosted by the UNCG Department of Philosophy and the UNCG Philosophy Club
