DESCRIPTION:UNCG’s College of Arts & Sciences invites you to its annual presentation of the Dean’s Award for the Promotion of Diversity and Inclusiveness. \n\n\n\nThe 2024 award recipient is The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry for their remarkable efforts to foster a community of inclusive excellence at UNCG.  \n\n\n\nJoin us for a presentation and conversation about fostering diversity and inclusiveness in an academic environment!  \n\n\n\nAgenda: \n\n\n\n\n3:00 – 3:30 A mix and mingle with food and drinks. \n\n\n\n3:30 – 4:30 An interactive presentation that will include: \n\n\n\n\nSuccess stories from student leaders in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Diversity\, Equity\, Inclusion\, and Access Committee. \n\n\n\n\n\nHow survey data can be used to improve departmental culture.\n\n\n\n\n\nRemarks from the inaugural members of the National Organization of Black Chemists and Engineers (NOBCChE) Chapter at UNCG.\n\n\n\n\n\nStories about Successful Science Community Outreach.\n\n\n\n\n4:30 – 5:00 A brainstorming session with audience members about fostering diversity\, equity\, inclusion\, and access in the College of Arts and Sciences. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe event will be held in the Alumni House’s Oakley Family Reception Room. UNCG faculty\, staff\, and interested friends are welcome to attend and learn more.
